Justin Alsing founded Calda AI in 2021 with a vision to bring cutting-edge developments from the research frontier to solve long-standing problems in heavy industry. Justin is a world-leading researcher in leveraging machine learning for solving data analysis and physical modelling problems in the most complex situations.  His foundational research over the past decade provides a firm basis for our breakthrough capabilities at Calda AI. Justin has held positions at Imperial College London,  Caltech, the Flatiron Institute in New York, and Stockholm University, where his research includes award-winning and groundbreaking discoveries, driven by breakthroughs in combining AI, physical modelling and advanced statistics.

Niall Jeffrey is an award-winning scientist with 10 years experience combining physical modelling, advanced statistics and machine-learning for solving some of the hardest problems in the physical sciences. At Calda AI, Niall brings deep expertise in developing novel capabilities in AI for solving large-scale scientific problems, from complex and messy datasets. Niall has held positions at University College London and the École Normale Supérieure, Paris, and his rich research career includes leading major scientific projects for the European Space Agency's Euclid mission and the international Dark Energy Survey collaboration.

Ben Wandelt is a world-renowned expert on developing and exploiting AI and advanced statistical methods in the physical sciences. Ben brings 30 years of experience at the research-frontier to the Calda AI team, and his vision and foundational research in using AI for complex scientific problems is a core driver at Calda. Ben has held positions at Princeton, Caltech, NYU, IAS, and he currently holds an International Chair at the Sorbonne University in Paris as well as a senior position at the Flatiron Institute in New York.
